Vehicle Engineering
RECHNER sensors have been used in commercial vehicle and railway engineering for decades. Whether in winter service vehicles, dead man’s switch systems, sanding systems for railway braking technology, or wheel flange lubrication systems, RECHNER’s level sensing technology is unique on the market. Even demanding applications requiring continuous level measurement become possible with just a single minimum calibration performed on an empty tank – no product or filling medium is required for setup. The probe operates with one setting for all media, eliminating the need for recalibration when the filling medium changes.
Solves the Most Demanding Measurement Applications
Sanding systems for railway vehicles present a particular challenge because the properties of the sand change over time, and different types of sand are often used. These vary in grain size, temperature, moisture content, mineral composition and permeability. Only the TiLevel probe from RECHNER Sensors can reliably perform this demanding continuous level measurement, as changes in the dielectric constant of the measured material do not affect the measurement result.
The TiLevel was developed, among other applications, for continuous analogue measurement of sand levels. It has proven its reliability in long-term field tests. The TiLevel requires no calibration to the material or the tank, is completely maintenance- and wear-free, weather-resistant, and offers an exceptionally long service life. This unique continuous and reliable level measurement solution enables predictive maintenance of sanding systems. It is even suitable for confined installation spaces in vehicle-specific designs. Refill requirements are detected at an early stage, eliminating the need for manual inspections. Sand replenishment can be planned in advance, ensuring that railway operations remain safe and efficient regardless of changes in the properties of the sand.
